Update IDEAL user’s services and roles
If your business has Customer Self Administrator (CSA) access

This means your business has an IDEAL user with the permissions of an administrator. To update a user’s services and roles, an administrator needs to submit a request and another administrator needs to approve this action.

An administrator can do this using the following steps. Please do it on a desktop computer as the CSA feature is currently available on the IDEAL desktop version. 

  1. Log in to DBS IDEAL.
     
  2. Go to the main menu and select Administration
     
  3. Select Manage company & users - Customer Self Administration. 
     
  4. Select Users - View and manage users.
     
  5. You may use the search bar to find the user whose roles or entitlements you want to change. Go to the person’s name. Next to it is an icon Action. Select it, then select Edit.
     
  6. You can change the user's details, IDEAL settings or entitlements. When done, select continue. 
     
  7. Review the changes, then select Submit.
     
  8. If you are adding a new transaction approver, you may be asked to provide supporting documents.
     
  9. Another administrator needs to approve the application to edit the user’s services and roles. 
     
  10. Once the updates are approved, the user’s role / services will be updated.  
If your business does not have CSA access
  1. Go to IDEAL Maintenance Form and create a new application.
     
  2. Select Login with DBS IDEAL to automatically fill in your organisation’s details. Or enter the information manually.
     
  3. Select Add/manage existing user's services and roles. 
     
  4. Under User 1, enter the user's name as per their identity documents. For Singapore residents, use their Singapore identity card (IC) or foreign identification number (FIN) card. For non-residents, use their passport.
     
  5. Select Add new service/role to existing user. 
     
  6. Enter the user’s details, including their IDEAL user ID, mobile number and email address.
     
  7. Add at least one user role
    •  Enquiry 
    •  Transaction Maker 
    •  Transaction Authoriser 
     
  8. Select the services that the user can access: 
    •  Cash and trade services 
    •  Open account trade (OAT) 
    •  Securities & Fiduciary services (SFS) 
    •  Loan 
    •  FX online 
     
  9. Grant access to All or Specific accounts. 
     
  10. Select Next to review application. 
     
  11. Select Authorise Submission
     
  12. Select the authorised signatories who need to approve the application. 
     
  13. You can have them sign either digitally (using DigiSign or DBS IDEAL) or in wet ink.

    A wet ink signature refers to a signature physically written on paper. If you need to provide additional supporting documents (such as when adding a transaction approver), wet-ink signatures are required.

    To submit an application with wet ink signatures 
    Select Print and send. Download this application as a PDF file, and print it for signing.

    If you are adding a new transaction approver, you may be asked to provide supporting documents. Mail these to us at the address in the document.

Update your mobile number for IDEAL

The mobile phone number is for receiving OTPs (One-Time Passwords) and text messages (SMS) about your transactions.

  1. Log in to DBS IDEAL.
     
  2. Go to the top right-hand corner and select the icon Profile.
     
  3. Go to the section Contact, then select Update next to your mobile number. 
     
  4. Enter your new mobile number and select Verify.
     
  5. An SMS OTP (One-Time Password) will be sent to the new mobile number. Enter it on-screen. 
     
  6. A Challenge Code will be shown on-screen. Enter it into your digital token or physical token, and a Response Code will be created. Enter this on-screen. 
     
  7. Your mobile number should be updated. Once done, you will receive a text message (SMS) and an email confirming this.
     

Update your email address for IDEAL

The email is for receiving emails about your transactions and other communications from us. 

  1. Log in to DBS IDEAL
     
  2. Go to the top right-hand corner and select the icon Profile
     
  3. Go to the section Contact, then select Update next to your email address. 
     
  4. Enter your new email address and select Verify.
     
  5. An OTP (One-Time Password) will be sent to the new email address. Enter it on-screen. 
     
  6. A Challenge Code will be shown on-screen. Enter it into your digital token or physical token, and a Response Code will be created. Enter this on-screen. 
     
  7. Your email address should be updated. Once done, you will receive a text message (SMS) and an email confirming this.
