Add and manage the links between parent and subsidiary companies

Last updated: Nov 2024

About the feature Parent/Subsidiary Company Linkage

The Parent/Subsidiary Company Linkage is a feature on our online banking platform DBS IDEAL. It allows related companies to link their IDEAL accounts so users can simply use one login to access and operate the accounts.

How it works
  • Users have a single login for linked companies: If you are a DBS IDEAL user for several linked companies, you can use one set of login credentials to access all linked accounts.
  • Each linked company must grant the necessary rights to users: Access and roles are not shared by default. For example, if a person works for a parent company and a subidiary company, they need permission from both companies to access the accounts.
  • Users have a general overview of linked companies: All DBS IDEAL users in linked companies can view the names of the linked companies. They do not need to have access to the accounts of those companies in DBS IDEAL.

Add parent and subsidiary companies’ linkage

To link companies’ DBS IDEAL accounts, the parent company and subsidiary company need to apply for it. The application will be processed in about 7 working days after we receive it. During this time, the companies’ DBS IDEAL users may experience some disruptions.

After the linkage is created, users will continue to access the companies that they were authorised for.

To allow someone to access another DBS IDEAL account, proceed to add a user.

You’re applying from the parent company

The parent company is usually the holding or main company of a group of companies.

  1. Go to IDEAL Maintenance Form and create a new application.

  2. Select Login with DBS IDEAL to automatically fill in your organisation’s details. Or enter the information manually.

  3. Go to Others, and select Add/update Parent & Subsidiary Company Linkage(s).

  4. Under Subsidiary Company, go to Do you have a/any subsidiary company(ies). Select Yes.

  5. Enter the subsidiary company’s name, and Unique Entity Number (UEN), company registration number or DBS IDEAL Organisation ID.

To add more than one subsidiary, select Add another subsidiary company. Then repeat step 5.

  6. Select Next to preview the application.

  7. Acknowledge the terms and conditions, and select Authorise Submission.

  8. You can have them sign either digitally (using DigiSign or DBS IDEAL) or in wet ink. A wet ink signature refers to a signature physically written on paper. If you need to provide additional supporting documents (such as when adding a transaction approver), wet ink signatures are required.

To submit an application with wet ink signatures
Select Print and send. Download this application as a PDF file, and print it for signing.

The application will be processed in about 7 working days after we receive the request for linkage from both parent and subsidiary companies.
