As part of our commitment to keep you safe from SMS phishing scams, we will be using email and push notifications as our default channels of communication.
Here are some of the services where SMS alerts will be replaced progressively with email alerts from March 2025 onwards:
- Payments
- Collections
- Account balance
- Statements
SMS alerts for transaction approvals will not be replaced and will continue to be sent.
For your subscribed services that have been switched from SMS to email, you will automatically receive the alerts via email to your registered email address, instead of via SMS to your registered mobile number.
Other mobile recipients of your subscribed alerts will no longer receive SMS alerts. If you would like them to continue receiving alerts, please add their email addresses as recipients via IDEAL.
Push notification settings remain unchanged. If you have previously opted to receive an alert via push notification, you will continue to do so. If you have not downloaded the DBS IDEAL mobile app, please do so and provision your digital token to start receiving push notifications.
Here is how you can create and manage alerts in DBS IDEAL.
- Log in to DBS IDEAL.
- Go to the top right-hand corner, and select the person icon to access your Profile & Settings.
- Go to Security & Preferences, and select Alerts & Notifications.
- Select the alerts you want to set up.
- To create an alert, select Create personalised alert.
- Select to receive the alerts via IDEAL mobile app alert or email. To have the same alert sent to other coworkers, add their email address.
- Select Submit to create and save alert.
- To manage your alerts, go to the alert and select Show saved alerts. Then select Edit or Delete. You will not be able to delete mandatory alerts. However, you can edit how you want to receive them.
On your device, please remember to allow notifications from the DBS IDEAL mobile app to receive push notifications:
- Go to Settings on your mobile device
- Select Notifications
- Select DBS IDEAL mobile app
- Tap Allow Notifications

Do I need to update the Bank if I have changed my mobile number/email address? | |
Yes, please update the Bank as soon as possible with your latest email address and mobile number via DBS IDEAL. |
Why am I not receiving email notification after opting for email alerts? | |
Once you have opted to receive email alerts, it may take up to one working day for the change to take effect. Please ensure your email address registered with the Bank is valid and updated to receive email alerts. Please also check your junk folder and add [email protected] and [email protected] to your contact list to prevent future emails from going into your junk folder. |
