Singapore: A Springboard to the Region
DBS BusinessClass Taiwan launches the first installment of “Asian Connectivity Series: Singapore – Gateway to Southeast Asia” in conjunction with its first year anniversary in Taiwan.
Jointly organized with Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITTRA), the event attracted a total of 220 SME owners, executives and managers to gain market insights and learn new business opportunities in Singapore.
DBS Senior Economist Irvin Seah was the first keynote speaker to share on a comprehensive economic forecast on the major ASEAN markets including Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines and Vietnam.
Attendees also got a chance to understand more about Singapore's key industry sectors and their capabilities business opportunities for Taiwan SMEs during a sharing by Vicky Lin, a researcher from TAITTRA.
Following that, a panel discussion with a stellar line-up of speakers from HonestBee, KOI and iChef, discussed experiences in "glocalisation" - business expansion and localisation, while staying true to their brand propositions.
The event concluded with an ‘Elevator Pitch’ from 3 solution providers, Cafebond.com, Xero and Visenze.
Beyond the event, the Taiwan Government has been promoting its New Southbound Policy, an initiative that aims to enhance cooperation and exchanges between Taiwan and 18 countries in Southeast Asia, South Asia and Australasia.
DBS Taiwan is actively leveraging on this opportunity to position itself as a regional bank and promote the exchange of opportunities in the Asian markets.
