Security Information - VeriSign

DBS Internet Banking is a VeriSign Secure Site. This is an assurance that the site runs legitimately under the care of DBS Bank. All information is sent in a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) session and is encrypted to protect you against unintentional information disclosure to third parties.

The 128-bit SSL encryption we use is the industry's strongest, and is also used by large-scale online merchants, banks, and brokerages worldwide.* Any data you send will be scrambled into an unrecognised form before it is transmitted to our server where only the bank has the special key to decode it. The information we send to you is similarly protected.

128-bit encrypted messages are over septillion times (or 309,485,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 times) harder to break than 40-bit messages. It would take 1 trillion x 1 trillion years to break using today's most sophisticated technology.*

As an added measure of security, DBS Internet Banking requires double-authentication before login. Both the User ID and PIN (can be varied from 6 to 9 digits to make guessing the PIN more difficult) are needed together to access your information online. Another security feature to protect against unauthorised access is the automatic logout of your DBS Internet Banking session if there is no activity detected.

While appropriate measures are taken by us, you play an important role in safeguarding your own banking information. Besides maintaining the confidentiality of your PIN, you are also advised to logout of the system and clear the cache whenever you leave your PC. These measures will help us ensure that your account information remains safe while transacting on cyberspace.
